Announcement: Digital Kamishibai Now Available Worldwide

We are delighted to share an update for our friends, educators, and supporters around the world:

English Kamishibai is now available as a digital release, with printed editions to follow soon.

Over the years, many of you—friends living abroad, fellow teachers, and former ALTs who have returned to your home countries—have told us the same thing:

“I want to use Kamishibai outside Japan.”

Your message reached us clearly.

To respond as quickly as possible, we have opened this English-language website and are releasing the digital Kamishibai first.

What You Can Do with the Digital Edition

Our digital Kamishibai (PDF or PowerPoint format) is designed for maximum flexibility:

• Display on any device — laptop, tablet, classroom monitor, or projector.
• Recreates classic Kamishibai actions such as sliding and revealing each panel.
• Easy to print at home or school if you prefer a physical experience.

A printed Kamishibai set—hand-crafted in the traditional Japanese style—will also be available for international shipping in the near future.

We hope this makes Kamishibai more accessible for your classrooms, libraries, community events, or even cozy storytime at home.

At the heart of “English Kamishibai” is our devotion to the beauty of the paper medium itself—the physical act of sliding and revealing each scene, the tactile charm of the material, and the traditional Japanese techniques we use in our hand-crafted production. Creating each set by hand is both our pride and our craft.
